   Neighbourhood plan    July 9, 2013

Shillingstone Parish Council has accepted the recommendation of the Neighbourhood Plan Committee to agree to develop a plan for the village of Shillingstone.  The recent questionnaire delviered to every household in the village showed certain common themes of concern; the desire to maintain the rural aspect of Shillingstone and preserve the open spaces within the village.  The majority of respondents recognised the need for a limited number of new properties of modest size.  A neighbourhood plan will allow the community to control the number, size, nature, design and location of any new houses in the village.  The Committee, under the chairmanship of John Paul, will now set the process in motion by formally proposing the existing parish boundary as the area for the plan and there will then begin an extensive consulation with the community to establsih the wishes and needs of residents in greater detail.  If you want to know about the process of preparing a plan, the following link will take you to a quick  guide to Neighbourhood Planning
